All it had taken from Narianne was a softly whispered "Let's get out of here" and a nod from Val for her to sneak out of the ball. Stuffy, spoilt, and annoying all those delegates. It had been simple to lose Val. She could escape but he had to stop anytime someone called him and it allowed her to slip away into the crowds of commoners.
There was much dancing and laughing and cheering. Drunken revelry all around in the firelight and she quickly hid herself in a gaggle of cheerily laughing women she recognized from her life in Elwynn.
There.
She spotted him leaving the formal ball and kept her eyes on him till his locked with hers. Then shooting him a cheeky grin, she ducked behind a couple of women and quickly scooted off over by a table with some food. She watched as he headed towards the woman, giggling as they joined together to point him in random directions; none sure where she had disappeared to. She watched in amusement as he nodded absently, searching the area with his own eyes and catching hers once more.
Nari spotted two Orcs lumbering towards the food and shot him another cheeky grin, waiting till they passed in front of her before heading off again.
A group of drunken dwarves stopped her near the haystacks and sang ballads "to the glory of the lovely lady." She couldn't help but be caught up in the fun, laughing joyously as she spotted Val heading towards her once again.
One more smile... a secret, inviting one reserved only for him as she backed slowly towards the haystacks and disappeared behind one to wait for him.

Social parties were never exciting for Val, and this one even less so. Usually he didn't attend such a high class, high brow, toffy, big-hatted, curly moustached, silky suited, shiny shoed, frilly shirted parties, but this was an exception. This time he was all dressed up in a suit. Not a suit of armour, as he'd been hoping to get away with, but one of the tight, restrictive types which prevented him from even scratching his back properly. If it were up to him, he'd be in the pub at the moment with Palus, and by the end of the night probably curled up on the end of his bed, comfortable and warm. Instead he was wandering around pretending to actually care about the people and their pointless lives. About how the Orcs were affecting their income and how the Trolls were stealing their sheep. Because of all the things the Grand Marshal of the Alliance armies, the one in charge of defending all their lands, had to do, it was going around making sure no one was stealing chickens that didn't belong to them.
If only it had been that simple, however, as to just have an Alliance party. Oh no, they'd made it a mixed one, and there was a clear division between the Horde representatives and the Alliance ones. Val didn't even want to know what they were doing, instead having to spend his time looking around for an accessory on his arm that had gone missing just after a dwarf had fallen flat on his face in the middle of the room. He looked around, but she had disappeared, the woman behind all of this, who had convinced him to come, made him look smart and attended to all the greetings with him so far that night. Nari had wandered off, albeit having told him of her plans, and with his consent, and although he knew she had disappeared in a certain direction, she was so quick it was like following a ray of light. He tiptoed around the members crowding the doorways as best as he could, which still resulted in several bumped shoulders and spilt drinks, before revealing himself to the Autumn air.
The number of people who had attended this festival between in Hillsbrad was quite impressive, especially considering the distance from the safety of their homes. He glanced around, finding it difficult to get his eyes accustomed to the firelight instead of the lanterns inside the ball tent. He could see many shapes moving around in the dark, fiery evening, and it was a while before he noticed his quarry between a group of women, her eyes hungrily watching after him. As soon as he saw her though she was gone, the unmistakeable glint of her dress dashing through more crowds as he moved after her, cursing the suit which caused him to run slower than even the thickest of his armours. The women around him were no help, and it was only after seeing her eyes once more that he resumed chase, a brief pursuit before losing her again. He drew in a deep breath finally, ignoring the uninhibited come-ons from the drunken women by the fire.
He could hear her voice then, and although it sounded garbled he couldn't imagine it being anyone else's. When he caught sight of her this time she was with a pair of dwarves and she quickly disappeared towards a barn, leading him in after her, avoiding the dwarves as subtly as he could manage with the drunken pair running in circles singing praises to the mountains. The barn with the haystacks was warm and dry, not unlike the outside, but it was encompassing. He moved slower, trailing his fingers against the straw-like texture of the hay as he kept his eyes keenly looking for her. He could almost smell her, as though he was some sort of predatory animal seeking her out. He resisted the urge to call after her, finally breaking line of sight with the barn entrance as he moved further inside.

Nari circled carefully through the shadows and shapes of the barn. She stayed hidden, content to continue the game till he had caught her, but desiring to be captured more and more as the seconds passed.
Her ears were sharply tuned to the crunch of his boots on the barn floor. She caught out of the corner of her eye his hand gliding along the silky hay and shivered.
He moved further into the building and she passed around behind him, pausing for a moment to lean against a haystack as a scent purely Val floated to her through the air.
Just a moment to enjoy...
Her eyes slipped closed and her hands slipped into the hay, dislodging a few pieces as strands were crushed in her fingers.

He heard a crunch behind him, and sneakily made his way in a large circle, his footsteps falling silent as he returned round to the haystack, spotting the movements of a figure. Coming around from behind, he waited until the last possible moment, stalking his unaware prey, then attacking, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her backwards, falling into the hay with her, laughing as she squealed from surprise. They fell deep into the soft material and he held her close, knocking more pieces of the hay down on top of her, burying them slightly in the golden touches. He pinned her tight against him, nuzzling against her neck from behind and stroking his hands across her waist teasingly, his face bright with the happy change from the dull and monotonous party he had previously been in. He inhaled, smelling her deliciously close to him, and pulled against her tighter. Hopefully no one would mind if the Grand Marshal stepped out for a few hours to inspect the handiwork of the local citizens.

A burst of giggles escaped her as he snuggled with her in the hay. Sighing happily after a few moments, she turned in his arms and placed a soft, but lingering, kiss on his lips. Pulling away she lightly brushed noses with him.
"Finally some true alone time. Like we haven't had ever..."
Her lips ghosted across his and then down his cheek. "Isn't fair. I could never have enough of you and yet I get very very little."
A seductive smile crossed her lips. "Can you suggest a plan of attack Grand Marshal that will remedy the situation?"

He stroked his nose gently back against hers, brushing his lips simultaneously against hers, kissing her back and letting his breath escape as hers had. His eyes flashed around her features, a hand stroking on her leg teasingly. He nodded, trying to remember just when they'd last had some spare time to themselves that hadn't been cut short by interruptions or soured by the situation. "I know... will be glad to finally spend quality time with you." She spoke again and he nodded, knowing how she felt, shuffling to the side so she could lay in the rather soft hay beside him, but still be close. His hand wandered up from her leg to stroke along her side, his eyes remaining enticed in her facial features. Her lips broke into a smile and he considered her words, returning the pleasant display. "Usually I'd have a few dozen men to carry out my orders..." He began, offering a grin. "But I think this time it requires an experienced man's touch. Distract the sentries, destroy the barricades and storm the keep." A sound plan for attacking such an impenetrable fortress.

Nari shivered as his hand rested on her side, scooting a little closer and leaning up to look down at him.
"Distract the sentries? That's quite the challenge. They're quite good at their job." She lowered her face towards his and kissed his nose, before hovering her lips over his. "Impossible to distract really..."
She lowered herself back down and smiled at him. She'd denied him a kiss and was interested in seeing how he handled it.
"And destroying barricades... they're quite expensive to repair..."

His body followed hers as she laid back down, his eyes fixed against hers, moving himself close, lips trailing against her cheek as he spoke softly to her. "The sentries are distracted." His arms folded out, stretching her arms out by her sides, his fingers slipping into hers and pressing her hands into the hay. He kissed her neck, locking her hands away. "The barriers have been removed." His breath drifted gently down her skin, ensuring that he fully teased her at the moment, then began gently nipping at her skin with his lips, pulling at her lips with his teeth before taking the kiss for for himself, pressing into her mouth with his. "And we take the fortress." He rolled back over, further into the hay, bringing her back on top of him, but keeping her hands in his, keeping her lips against his. Keeping her close and safe and away from anything dangerous.

A contented sigh slipped from her as he kissed her. She fought to bring her hands closer; to stroke them down his face, wrap them around his shoulders and press herself against him. She whined for a moment as she was unable to break her hands free but soon settled back into him, sighing again.
"Val..." His name was whispered as she pulled away for a breath.
Her lips lightly, teasingly brushed his, her teeth nibbled his lower lip before she brushed her nose across his cheek and down his neck, stopping to nibble lightly on his ear.
"I love you..."

The sound of her voice was delicious and he pressed his lips into hers to stop himself from licking them, and then licking her, his tongue would not submit to control. He kissed her once, and then again, and again, breaking away finally, a small smile on his lips as his ears listened out to the lack of other presences in the room. No one else here. No distractions. No interruptions. No worries. Allowing his hands permission to slip softly up and down her back, having guided her hands towards him again, he started to move his mouth to kiss up and down her neck, exhaling and repeating after her. "I love you too, Nari." He pressed himself against her but did not pull, instead just letting her rest into him, keeping his hands soft. "Maybe we should make use of the time we have before we are discovered and suffer an intervention." His eyes did the rest of the talking, one hand allowing part of her dress to slip up slightly as he strokes it back up the back of her leg.

Narianne didn't think she could ever get enough of his lips touching her. His hands stroking along her back caused shivers to run down her spine and as he spoke she nuzzled into his neck.
"I am a stormed fortress Val... if you so choose you can do whatever you like..."
She brushed her lips along his again, sighing against them and leaning up to kiss his nose
