The Rules
Keep to the overall plot.
The overall plot gives a review of what has happened so far, what is happening at the moment and whether any major decisions have been carried out. The plot will be updated based on what happens in the threads. Do not deviate from the plot by stating you wandered off to Outlands before the Dark Portal is even reactivated.
Moderators.
Moderators will be around to make sure there's not something incredibly overpowered happening. While I'm sure your character is probably quite happy with be a Tauren/Night Elf hybrid with Arcane Prowess, I doubt it's supported by any form of sense, nevermind lore. Moderators will decide whether to allow something or not based on whether it's realistic and within fair play boundaries.
Perfection.
No one gets there. So don't play as if you do. Your character will not be perfect and should have flaws. That's what makes your character fun - the fact that they can be beaten, even if it's by themselves.
In general:
Forum Rules
Characters
Every character should have a unique story, and characters should not be from the Warcraft series. Arthas is wandering the wastes somewhere, so he's already preoccupied, meaning you cannot be him. Bios need reviewing by a moderator before you are allowed to RP, meaning you may need to go through several revisions before you can play. This is not to punish people, but to make sure the RPing is at a high standard. Even if your character doesn't know something, it DID happen, and so it should be in the bio. None of the 'she was born in the forests, and her parents were always a mystery'.
Character Creation
Members may make up to 4 characters. For a fifth and sixth it must be granted by a moderator for each. A seventh and eighth may be granted at admin discretion only. Members must be in RP with all characters before another slot is approved. Characters may have one character of each war faction only (Human, Dwarf, Gnome, Night Elf), though they are not restricted to pure Alliance/Horde. You can make a single undead commander and a single leader commander, and as many unallied/civilians as you see fit. The limit would still be 8, however.
Management
If a problem arises, handle it through PMs instead of having forum-wide flame wars. If this is the case action will be taken against both parties on behalf of the moderation team. If the behaviour persists, warnings and bans will be enforced.
Thread content
Threads should be labelled if they are not suitable for all ages. Profile applications should remain free from profanity and anything explicit in nature. Swearing should include the disclaimer PG-13 in the thread title, R if the thread contains adult themes, and NC-17 if the thread is including themes of a sexual nature. If, for example, during a PG-13 thread, an NC-17 moment occurs that the roleplayers wish to pursue, it should be moved to an appropriate thread and if necessary linked with disclaimer tags in both title and hyperlinks. Warnings will be issued to those who do not follow the appopriate tagging formats.

In general:
- Magi are aggressive or defensive, not masters of both
- Warriors are not meat grinders, so should not be cleaving through enemies like it was nothing
- Archers will miss at times, or the bow will do something undesired
- Animals will misbehave or be afraid, they aren't perfect
- You can be hit, injured and even killed, so don't take combat lightly
- You do not know everything that is, was, or will be, so just because something happened doesn't mean you're aware of it
Forum Rules
- Racism or offensive posts out side of RP will not be tolerated
- Keep all outside links and advertisements in the designated threads. Must have a minimum of 10 posts and submitted character Bio to be able to advertise using any method.
- Put effort into your posting. We are not all Shakespeare but we can all put time and effort into our responses.
- Please wait a minimum of 24 hours before double posting. The plot must go on but if you want to continue your last post, you may modify until you reach your 60,000 character limit.
- Keep IC Roll Playing third person. I rolled out of sight in the nick of time should be [Player's Name or pronoun] rolled out of sight in the nick of time.

Character Limitations
A maximum of 3 characters per race will be imposed to prevent a heavy bias on the boards of one type or another. This means you will be free to make up to 3 Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, etc, regardless of allegiances, to attempt to keep it more balanced. This rule may be subject to change, however at the moment it will be a fixed standard.
Spells
Spells must have a cast time, and may not be instantly cast. This cast time may take the form of a second, or several seconds, depending on the strength and complexity of the spell. Furthermore the spells being cast must be stated explicitly in the post, and a character may not refer to things such as 'their hands began to glow' and leave it open. This is for several reasons, the main being simply the great availability of Godmodding from this position. A character may still have 'glowing hands' but instead of
Ted the Farmer's hands began to glow.
it would be
Ted the Farmer's hands began to glow as he charged up a Soulfire.
